2x Di Fabio Winemaker's Selection Cabernet Blend 2018

Red — Cabernet Blend

McLaren Vale — Australia

Plush, rich blackberries and plums with a raspberry like acidity and wonderfully soft tannins. There's a good lick of oak but nothing distracting, a hint of eucalypt but it stops short of menthol. This wine's time in the cellar has done it absolute wonders - soft, smooth, silky, yet powerful, plush and ripe. A great wine from one of McLaren Vale's greatest producers.

You'd pay $50 full price.

2x Hither & Yon Old Jarvie 'The Enforcer' Shiraz Mataro Grenache 2020

Red — Shiraz Blend

McLaren Vale — Australia

This is a GSM with serious backbone - shiraz and mataro crushed, grenache whole berry, all from sustainably farmed McLaren Vale vineyards with serious pedigree. The 2020 vintage was a tough one: dry, hot, stressful for the vines, and ultimately brilliant for concentration and natural acidity. Lower yields, longer ripening, and fruit that had to work hard to get there. In the glass it's all dark fruit, smoked nuts, a coastal herb and iodine edge, with polished tannins and a silky length that betrays just how carefully this was put together. Dense and structured, but never heavy. Fire up some spicy sausage pasta and let The Enforcer do what it does best.

2x Lambert Estate Mustang Sally Shiraz 2023

Red — Shiraz

Barossa — Australia

Juicy, polished Barossa Shiraz that hits the sweet spot between richness and drinkability. A guaranteed crowd-pleaser from first pour to last. A bright, modern Barossa expression that balances generosity with real polish. It opens with juicy plum, blackberry and a lift of sweet spice, then settles into a smooth, mouth-filling palate that still keeps some freshness in the tank. There’s enough Barossa richness to satisfy the big-red crowd, but it avoids heaviness thanks to clean fruit and smart, understated oak. The finish is silky, warming and seriously moreish. It’s the kind of Shiraz you pour for anyone and know they’ll be happy.

You'd pay $30 full price.

2x Flint River Vineyard Polish Hill Riesling 2024

White — Riesling

Clare Valley — Australia

Polish Hill proves, yet again, that it produces the most age-worthy riesling in the country (if not the world). The nose is alive with green apple, jasmine florals and zesty lime, with a flinty mineral edge that sets the tone. On the palate, it’s taut and vibrant – layers of kaffir lime, citrus rind and Granny Smith apple carried on a cool, slatey minerality. Clare Valley riesling, firing on all cylinders.

2x Pyren Vineyards Tanwood Pinot Gris 2025

White — Pinot Gris

Pyrenees — Australia

The Victorian Pyrenees may no be the first place that you'd go searching for a bottle of pinot gris, but you certainly should. With a classic climate for aromatic white wines, this is all about the fleshy white peach and pear drop characters that are hard to resist. Add in a dose of tartness somewhere in the realm of green apple and almond skin, and you've got the perfectly balanced glass.

You'd pay $25 full price.

2x Coltbridge Chardonnay 2022

White — Chardonnay

South Australia — Australia

Not every chardonnay needs a ceremony. Sometimes you just want something genuinely delicious that doesn't require a special occasion or a second mortgage. This is that wine. Fresh enough for a warm afternoon. Rich enough for a roast chicken. Relaxed enough to open for absolutely no reason whatsoever on a Wednesday night. Bright and inviting from the first pour - lemon zest, green apple, orange blossom and a subtle white floral lift on the nose. The palate is velvety and vibrant, with toasted brioche, citrus cream and a clean, medium-length finish that leaves you reaching for another glass without really thinking about it. Great value, great drinking, zero fuss. Grab a few and find your own excuse to open them.

You'd pay $24 full price.

Frequently Asked Questions

This collection demonstrates how careful curation can deliver exceptional quality without premium pricing. The mix includes boutique producers and killer vintages that would typically cost significantly more individually. By combining wines from various regions and styles, you're getting access to diverse terroirs and winemaking approaches that showcase Australia's wine diversity at a fraction of what you'd pay for similar quality bottles separately.

The vintage variation from 2018 to 2025 offers a fascinating journey through recent Australian wine history. Start with the older vintages like the 2018 Cabernet Blend, which will have developed more complex secondary flavours, then progress to the younger wines that showcase fresh fruit expression. The 2024 and 2025 wines represent the most recent expressions of their respective varietals and regions, perfect for understanding current winemaking trends.

The diverse flavour profile spanning from blackberry and pepper in the reds to white peach and creamy textures in the whites creates endless pairing possibilities. The Shiraz-based blends work beautifully with grilled meats and hearty stews, while the Riesling and Pinot Gris offer perfect matches for seafood, Asian cuisine, and lighter fare. This variety means you'll have appropriate wines for everything from casual weeknight dinners to special occasion meals.

While this case is designed for immediate enjoyment and everyday drinking, several wines offer short to medium-term cellaring potential. The 2018 Cabernet Blend is already showing maturity, making it perfect for current consumption, while the 2020 Shiraz Mataro Grenache blend could develop further complexity over the next 2-3 years. The white wines, particularly the 2024 Riesling, are at their peak freshness now but could evolve beautifully over the next year or two.

This case serves as an excellent introduction to Australia's diverse wine landscape, featuring producers from various regions each with distinct terroir characteristics. The mix represents different climate zones and soil types across Australia, from cool-climate areas producing elegant Riesling and Pinot Gris to warmer regions crafting bold Shiraz blends. By tasting these wines side by side, you'll develop an understanding of how geography influences flavour profiles and winemaking styles across the continent.
