If ever there was a grape capable of magic, it’s pinot noir. Little wonder it’s key to many of the most expensive wines in the world.

2x Yering Lane Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2025

Red — Pinot Noir

Yarra Valley — Australia

This is a Yarra Valley pinot with the precise prettiness that we've all come to expect from - huge call incoming - Australia's greatest pinot region. Grown in the luscious Yarra Valley hills of Gruyere, from the ever-popular MV6 clone, and matured for 10 months in French oak, it’s a wine that nails the balance between purity and complexity. The nose is singing - raspberry, cherry, poached rhubarb and a cool note of spearmint, with oak spice drifting through. The palate is built on bright acidity and soft, powdery tannins. Red currants, hibiscus and baked cherry pie. It’s layered, lifted and built to charm - a perfect match for mushroom gnocchi, but equally at home as the sole star of the show. You could absolutely drink now or watch it evolve over the next 5-6 years - the choice is yours.

You'd pay $55 full price.

2x Journey Wines Coldstream Pinot Noir 2023

Red — Pinot Noir

Yarra Valley — Australia

Wowee, we've got an outstanding example of single-vineyard Yarra pinot on our hands here! As generous as it is sophisticated - this wine is paradoxically super easy to drink, and at the same time, next level complex. Trying to pick individual notes is like picking individual voices in a choir. And why should we? If the song sounds good, let 'em sing - and the wine is certainly singing now.

2x Twin Valleys Reserve Pinot Noir 2023

Red — Pinot Noir

Victoria — Australia

This is a really smart little wine. A lot of red fruit on display, some rich, ripe raspberry and strawberries lead into more densely laden cranberry and red cherry. The tannin is fine grain and delicate - pretty but textural and providing nice, subtle grip. While this is certifiable cool climate, it doesn't want for weight. The palate is satisfying and broad with classic cool climate acidity giving it focus and drive through a fine boned, prickly finish that lasts and lasts.

You'd pay $35 full price.

2x Spring Vale Melrose Pinot Noir 2025

Red — Pinot Noir

Tasmania — Australia

This is Tassie pinot noir at its most inviting. Young, fresh and full of energy, it’s all about letting the fruit speak and keeping everything else nicely in check. No heavy extraction. No oak overload. Just clean, vibrant pinot doing what it does best. Pour generously, and don’t be surprised when the bottle disappears quicker than planned.

You'd pay $32 full price.

2x Sorby Adams Mytikas Pinot Noir 2022

Red — Pinot Noir

Adelaide — Australia

This satisfying little pinot takes its name from the peak of Mount Olympus in Athens, where the Adelaide GI grape-grower George’s family originated - Mytikas. Funnily enough, it also means "nose", we reckon that's pretty fitting given the fragrant, vibrant style that the wines are made in. Subtle French oak sets the stage for a fresh, bright pinot displaying plum, red cherry and warming spice. The finish is as long as it is satisfying. You could drink this pinot any time, anywhere and with any one. Super yummy.

2x Austins Wines 6Ft6 Pinot Noir 2025

Red — Pinot Noir

Geelong — Australia

Geelong is, for me, the best pinot noir producing region outside of Burgundy. Not the USA's Oregon, not New Zealand's Central Otago - little old Geelong on Victoria's south coast. Fresh and inviting, this will give a lot with just a little swirl in the glass. Raspberry coulis, winter strawberry, some sweet spice, fennel, thistle. The complexity far outpaces its price tag. The wine is structured without sacrificing finesse, which means it's pretty without being thin or wussy. This is dangerous value at this price and worth stocking up because we don't anticipate we'll be able to hang onto it too for long.

You'd pay $25 full price.

Frequently Asked Questions

This curated lineup showcases Pinot Noir's incredible versatility across different terroirs and winemaking styles, from perfumed and elegant expressions to darker, more structured wines. Rather than committing to one style, you'll experience how this notoriously finicky grape adapts to various regions and vintages. The collection includes boutique producers and single vineyard wines that have earned impressive ratings up to 94 points, offering exceptional value when purchased together.

Start with the lighter, more perfumed styles that showcase cherry and strawberry notes, then progress to the earthier, spicier expressions with darker fruit characteristics. Pinot Noir is incredibly food-friendly, so experiment with pairings from salmon and duck to mushroom dishes and aged cheeses. The varying palate weights in this collection mean you can match wines to both delicate and robust flavours throughout a meal.

Pinot Noir is often called the 'heartbreak grape' because it's so sensitive to terroir - the combination of soil, climate, and geography that gives wine its sense of place. This collection allows you to taste how the same grape variety expresses itself differently across regions, from cool-climate elegance to warmer-site richness. It's like taking a masterclass in how geography influences wine character without leaving your dining room.

Most Pinot Noirs in this collection, particularly those from recent vintages like 2023 and 2025, are crafted to be approachable young while still having cellaring potential. The various palate weights suggest some are designed for immediate enjoyment with their fresh fruit character, while others may develop additional complexity with 3-5 years of careful storage. The beauty of having multiple bottles is you can enjoy some now and cellar others to see how they evolve.

The flavour spectrum from cherry and raspberry to earthy and herbaceous notes makes this collection incredibly versatile for food pairing. Lighter styles complement salmon, duck breast, and mushroom risotto, while the darker, spicier expressions pair beautifully with game meats, aged cheeses, and even chocolate desserts. The varying tannin levels and acidity across the collection mean you'll always have an appropriate match for your meal's intensity and flavour profile.
