A new staple. This lively shiraz showcases Mitolo's ability to create a point of interest in every wine. Initially bright and energetic with notes of violet and dark cherry but with underlying savoury aspects and fine tannins. A nuanced and thoroughly drinkable wine.

Why do we love this wine?
This year was all quality. 2022 brought a near-perfect growing season to McLaren Vale, a rare vintage that brings both high yields and also, concentrated, high quality fruit. The Lupo is a wine that shows us what McLaren Vale is all about - good fruit, put in good barrels, creating good wine. There's bright but dense plum and cherry flavours interwoven with seamless oak and pleasant lingering tannins. If you're a fan of Mitolo, or even the region in general, then this is one you've got to try.

Ken Gargett
"A fresh and delicious version of McLaren Vale Shiraz, this has a dark maroon colour. The nose gives us notes of chocolate, mocha, coffee grinds and bay leaves, along with some cassis and blackberries. Good complexity is already evident, the wine has a lovely plushness and there is a supple, creamy palate. Fine acidity, silky tannins, excellent balance and real persistence. Love it. A ten year proposition." - Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot.

Wine Orbit
Upfront and instantly appealing, the wine shows dark fruit richness, olive, tapenade, and toasted nut aromas. The weighty palate displays terrific fruit power backed by silky texture and polished tannins, finishing delectable and sturdy. Wonderfully composed and proportioned, making it highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2038.
