There's an unofficial saying in South Australia, 'if you want a wine made, make a wine - if you want a wine made well, get Ben Riggs to make it'. Honestly, this bloke doesn't miss. Soft and silky in all the right places, but with that oomph and subtle structure that delicious Pinots tend to have. We love this wine, you will too. Drink with anything you can think of, even curry - we dare you!

Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

This one’s a breath of fresh air. A bright, floral and beautifully aromatic pinot that nails the balance between elegance and flavour. Think cherries, raspberries and a touch of savoury spice gliding across a soft, silky palate. A cooler vintage meant slower ripening and brilliant natural acidity, with fruit hand-picked in the early hours keep things pristine. What we end up with is a graceful, juicy red that’s as easy to love on a Tuesday night as it is at a wedding, birthday or parent-teacher interview.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 2024 vintage was notably cooler in Adelaide Hills, which created ideal conditions for Pinot Noir development. Cooler temperatures mean grapes ripen more slowly, allowing complex flavour compounds to develop while retaining bright natural acidity. This extended ripening period is crucial for Pinot Noir, as it's a thin-skinned variety that benefits from gentle maturation to achieve the perfect balance between fruit intensity and elegant structure.

Adelaide Hills' elevation and cool climate mirror some of the world's best Pinot Noir regions like Burgundy and Oregon. The region's diurnal temperature variation - warm days and cool nights - allows grapes to develop intense flavours while maintaining crisp acidity. The cooler conditions also help preserve the delicate floral aromatics that Pinot Noir is famous for, which would be lost in warmer climates.

Single vineyard wines come from grapes grown in one specific location, allowing the unique characteristics of that particular site to shine through. This approach showcases terroir - the combination of soil, climate, and topography that gives wine its sense of place. For Pinot Noir especially, single vineyard bottlings often display more distinctive personality and complexity compared to blended wines from multiple sites.

Serve this wine slightly chilled at 14-16°C to enhance its bright fruit character and elegant structure. Light-bodied Pinot Noirs benefit from a slight chill as it accentuates their fresh acidity and prevents the alcohol from overwhelming the delicate flavours. Use a large-bowled glass to concentrate the floral aromatics, and consider decanting for 30 minutes if you want to soften the wine's youthful vibrancy.

The wine's bright acidity and cherry-raspberry profile make it incredibly food-friendly, particularly with dishes that have earthy or umami elements. Think roasted chicken with herbs, duck breast with cherry sauce, or mushroom risotto. The savoury spice notes also complement Asian cuisine beautifully - try it with teriyaki salmon or five-spice pork belly where the wine's elegance won't be overpowered by bold flavours.
