Why do we love this wine?
Max’s shiraz cabernet tips the hat to Max Schubert, the winemaker who shaped Penfolds and Australian wine as we know it. That pedigree shows up fast. Dark blackberry, mulberry and plum jump out of the glass, with baking spice, bay leaf and a little liquorice humming underneath. The palate is smooth, generous and seriously easy to drink. Dark fruit, a touch of chocolate, fine tannins and a polished finish that makes you want another pour straight away. This is the magic trick. One of the most famous producers in the country, a blend with Grange DNA, and you can drink it without breaking the bank - you're welcome.
