Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

A vibrant ruby red in the glass that draws you in, then an aromatic hit that’s all about freshness and finesse. Think juicy raspberry and dark cherries, with little hints forest floor. The palate takes it up a notch - those bright red fruits are joined by sweet spice, with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg and a gentle lick of toasty French oak. It’s layered, lively and dangerously drinkable. A beautiful balance of fruit and finesse.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Yarra Valley's cool climate and diverse soil types create ideal conditions for elegant Pinot Noir, producing wines with natural acidity and complex flavour development. This 2024 vintage showcases the region's signature style with its vibrant ruby colour and forest floor earthiness, characteristics that distinguish Yarra Valley Pinot from warmer climate expressions. The combination of bright fruit and subtle French oak reflects the region's reputation for producing some of Australia's most refined Pinot Noir.

Serve this medium-bodied Pinot Noir slightly below room temperature at 14-16°C to highlight its fresh raspberry and cherry characteristics while allowing the subtle spice notes to emerge. The wine's textured, savoury profile makes it perfect for decanting 30 minutes before serving, which will help integrate the French oak and enhance the forest floor complexity. Use a large-bowled Burgundy glass to concentrate the aromatic intensity and allow proper aeration.

The wine's medium body and earthy undertones make it exceptional with duck breast, roasted lamb, or mushroom-based dishes that complement the forest floor notes. The bright acidity and cherry flavours also pair beautifully with salmon, particularly when prepared with herbs or light spices that echo the wine's cinnamon and nutmeg characteristics. For cheese, try aged Gruyère or soft-ripened varieties that won't overpower the wine's elegant structure.

This 2024 Pinot Noir is crafted in an approachable style that's delicious now, showcasing vibrant fruit and well-integrated oak that makes it 'dangerously drinkable' as described. However, the wine's structured tannins and quality French oak suggest it will develop additional complexity over 3-5 years, with the earthy forest floor notes becoming more prominent. The high ratings from multiple critics indicate this has the quality to reward both immediate enjoyment and short-term cellaring.

The convergence of high scores from James Halliday, Wine Orbit, and recognition as a boutique producer indicates exceptional quality and consistency across different tasting panels. These ratings reflect the wine's successful balance of fruit intensity, structural complexity, and regional character that critics value in premium Pinot Noir. The 'Boutique Producer' designation suggests small-batch winemaking with attention to detail, while the Halliday rating confirms this producer's track record for excellence in Australian wine.
