Why do we love this wine?
2018 was an outstanding season, and the low-yielding fruit it produced has been handled with the kind of precision and restraint that sets this wine apart. Seven years of bottle age and it's absolutely singing. Near opaque in the glass, with cassis, blueberry, coffee bean and mocha on the nose - opulent and completely compelling. The palate is smooth, succulent and richly layered, with a gentle spice, violet, liquorice and a plushness that somehow never loses its sense of refinement. Silky tannins. Exceptional length. A balance and seamlessness that makes it genuinely hard to put the glass down. Drink it now with something fatty. Or cellar it for another decade and watch it grow and develop.
