Not all wines are made the same. And certainly not all Barossa shiraz is made the same. It's not easy to make such a dense and complex wine, but when you've got access to fruit from premo vineyards in the Barossa and the know-how to use it - you're one step towards success. Weighty, deep, dark, spicy and smooth - this one's an absolute triumph.

Frequently Asked Questions

This Shiraz earned its place as the clear winner among 40 different bottles tested on the same day, impressing every taster at the bench. With a 95-point rating from Wine Orbit and recognition as both a 'Killer Vintage' and 'Mofo Fave', it demonstrates exceptional quality that punches well above its weight. The wine's juicy, dense character with blackberry, plum and dark chocolate notes creates a drinking experience typically found in much more expensive bottles.

The Barossa Valley's warm continental climate and ancient soils create ideal conditions for producing full-bodied Shiraz with intense fruit concentration. The region's low rainfall and hot summers stress the vines just enough to concentrate flavours, resulting in the dense, rich character found in this wine. Barossa Shiraz is renowned globally for its ability to balance power with elegance, delivering those signature dark fruit and chocolate notes that make this wine so compelling.

The wine's rich blackberry and dark chocolate notes make it perfect for grilled red meats, particularly beef steaks or lamb with herb crusts. The full-bodied palate weight can stand up to bold flavours like barbecued ribs, aged cheeses, or even dark chocolate desserts. The plum characteristics also complement game meats and hearty stews, while the wine's density makes it an excellent match for dishes with rich, savoury sauces.

The 2023 vintage has been recognised as a 'Killer Vintage', indicating exceptional growing conditions that year. This vintage benefits from optimal weather patterns that allowed for perfect ripening, resulting in the concentrated fruit flavours and balanced structure evident in this wine. The fact that it scored 95 points and impressed every taster suggests 2023 produced Shiraz with both immediate appeal and the potential for graceful ageing.

Expect a wine that delivers immediate pleasure with its juicy, dense character and complex flavour profile. The blackberry and plum notes provide rich fruit sweetness, while dark chocolate undertones add depth and sophistication to each sip. The full-bodied palate weight means the wine has substantial presence in your mouth, with flavours that linger pleasantly. This is the type of Shiraz that converts casual drinkers into serious wine enthusiasts.
