Blanc de Blanc is just a fancy way of saying your sparkling wine is made purely from white grapes. And there's no better white grape for bubbles than chardonnay. Just ask the Champenois.

Why do we love this wine?

Twin Valleys sourced chardonnay from a single vineyard in Moyhu, a gorgeous little spot in the King Valley that always delivers the goods. This is elegant and engaging, offering up green apple, jasmine, brioche, hazelnut and waves of citrus. But don't look past the mouthfeel, starting with a very fine bead and rolling into a creamy palate and lingering vibrancy from the citrusy acid.

Exquisitely fine and elegantly fragrant with white flesh stone fruit, lemon pith, crunchy apple and acacia aromas on the nose. The palate is concentrated and persistent with refined texture and beautifully pitched acidity, finishing impressively long and linear.

This is from the Twin Valleys Single Site Reserve range, from the King Valley River vineyard. A fine and elegant blanc de blancs style, neatly balanced and with appealing persistence. The colour is a very pale yellow. The nose weaves through gentle hints of brioche and nuts, lemons, citrus and more, but it is the pears, riverstones and mineral backing which dominate here. Crisp, clean and bright, the freshness is appealing. A refined and refreshing style, this will provide impressive drinking over the next two to three years.

Frequently Asked Questions

This Blanc de Blancs is crafted exclusively from Chardonnay grapes sourced from a single vineyard in Moyhu, King Valley, which gives it a distinct terroir expression. The traditional method production creates exceptional complexity with brioche and hazelnut notes from extended lees contact, while the King Valley's cool climate preserves the wine's natural acidity and elegant structure. Its impressive 95-point ratings from multiple critics reflect the meticulous winemaking that balances richness with finesse.

Serve this Blanc de Blancs well-chilled at 6-8°C in flute or tulip glasses to showcase its fine persistent bead and concentrate the delicate aromatics. Store bottles horizontally in a cool, dark place away from vibration - the NV format means it's ready to drink now but can develop further complexity over 2-3 years. The wine's medium body and creamy texture make it versatile enough for both aperitif service and food pairing throughout a meal.

The wine's brioche and hazelnut characteristics make it exceptional with soft cheeses like brie or camembert, while its citrusy acidity cuts beautifully through rich seafood dishes like lobster thermidor or pan-seared scallops. The creamy palate and fine bead complement oysters, sushi, and delicate canapés perfectly. Its medium body also allows it to stand up to roasted chicken or pork dishes with cream-based sauces.

King Valley's elevation and cool climate create perfect conditions for Chardonnay, allowing grapes to ripen slowly while retaining crucial natural acidity. The region's diurnal temperature variation - warm days and cool nights - helps develop complex flavour compounds while preserving freshness. Moyhu's specific microclimate and soil composition contribute to the wine's distinctive green apple and citrus characteristics, making it an emerging premium region for sparkling wine production in Australia.

NV stands for 'Non-Vintage', meaning this wine is a blend of multiple harvest years to achieve consistent house style and complexity. This approach allows Twin Valleys to combine the best characteristics from different vintages, creating a more balanced and reliable product than single vintage releases. The blending process adds depth and complexity, contributing to the wine's layered flavours of jasmine, citrus, and brioche while maintaining the producer's signature elegant style year after year.
